Lynda Cornett Summers' Obituary
Lynda was born in Pampa Texas on April 2,1942 to Billie and Doshia Cornett.
Growing up Lynda enjoyed Girls Axillary, 4H, and attending Groom First Baptist Church. She was in the marching band and also went to state with her drama class for her one act play. After graduating from Groom High School she earned her associate degree from West Texas state in Canyon, Texas. While at college Lynda met the love of her life Max Summers and they married December 23, 1963.
During the 1970’s the couple settled in Colleyville, Texas to raise her two children.
Lynda took great joy at being a wife and mother. She also enjoyed working retail, and playing in her monthly Bunko Club that she was a member of for over 40 years forming some of her dearest friendships. She enjoyed traveling with Max. Their favorite vacations were spent in the Colorado mountains. Later in life she followed her true calling of babysitting newborn babies for teachers during the school year. Babies and ShiTzu puppies were some of her favorite things.
Lynda was very outgoing, she loved meeting people and truly never met a stranger. She genuinely cared about people and felt it was an honor to serve others. She was a powerful prayer warrior and bold about sharing her faith and her testimony of overcoming cancer. Often praying with someone on the spot.
Lynda is survived by her daughter, Cindy Beard and Husband Donald of Quitaque, her son, Lance Summers and Wife Kim of North Richland Hills, and her three grandkids Blake, Ethan and Zuri Beard.
Memorial service will be at 11:30 AM Friday, January 20, 2023 in the First Baptist Church in Quitaque
