Lottie "Dot" Maye Pointer's Obituary
CLARENDON SERVICES- 2:00 PM Friday, August 7, 2009 in the First United Methodist Church in Clarendon with Rev. Terry Lowe, Pastor, officiating. INTERMENT- Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Mrs. Pointer passed away peacefully on Aug. 4, 2009. Mrs. Pointer was born Feb. 9, 1920 to Mary and Clem Holland in Donley County. She married James Sidney “Sid” Pointer on February 6, 1947 in Gulfport, Mississippi. For many years, Dot and Sid ran the grocery store in Lelia Lake until Sid’s death in 1968. She later was a dorm parent for many years at Clarendon College. Dot was a kind and loving lady in all that she did. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and in her later years, sending and receiving emails. Dot was welcomed to heaven by her loving husband, Sid, who preceded her in death on August 5, 1968. Dot was dearly loved by many friends and family members, including her son, Steve Pointer and daughter-in-law Julie Pointer; one granddaughter, Keeli Garza and her husband Joe; two grandsons, Clay and Koby Pointer and numerous loving cousins, nieces and nephews. MEMORIALS - The family requests memorials be to First United Methodist Church in Clarendon.
