Larry was born in Shamrock, Texas on August 10, 1940 to Boots and Mollie Sisemore Cook. He graduated from Shamrock High School in 1959. He played in the Band and won the John Phillip Sousa Award his senior year. Larry married Jean Biter in 1959 and served in the Army National Guard from 1962 until his honorable discharge in 1968. While in high school and after graduation he worked as a butcher at Puckett's Grocery in Shamrock. In 1970 he purchased the Shamrock Slaughter Plant which he owned and operated for 50 years. He always wanted to be a cowboy and worked and saved his money to buy his first horse and saddle. He made his dream come true. He loved horses, to ride and rope and tend his cattle but he hated working on windmills. He also loved to dance. Always the first one on the floor for the first dance and danced every dance until they closed for the night. He was always the life of the party and made everything fun. On April 8, 1988 he married Ann Fagan and they were married for 35 years. Larry never met a stranger. He loved children, especially his grandchildren and great-grands. Despite his roaring, outgoing personality he was kind, loving, thoughtful and considerate of everyone he met. He loved life and everything it involved whether work or play. He will be greatly missed by so many people.
He was preceded in death by his parents Boots and Mollie Sisemore Cook; his first wife and the mother of his children Jean Biter Cook; sister Polly Cook; and sons Lawrence Wayne Cook and Philip Howard Cook.
