BIOGRAPHY: Kay Johnston was born October 14, 1928 in Takasaki City, Japan to Chizaka and Sada Hanoka. She moved to Shamrock in 1953, where she remained a lifelong resident. In her earlier years, she owned and operated Kay’s Grocery. She held various other jobs throughout her years and gained many friends she held near and dear to her heart.
Kay loved her family more than anything. She went above and beyond her role as Mom, Mother-in-Law, Grandma and Great Grandma. Spending time with family and friends made her happy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Johnston; her mother, Sada; father, Chizuka; 3 brothers, one sister and her adopted parents Ed and Myrtle LeWellen.
Survivors: 1 Daughter – Mary Kay Tallant and Randy – Shamrock
1 Son – Bill Franklin – Lubbock
2 Grandchildren – Bobby Patton and Amy – Coppell
Chelsey Robertson and Jonathan – Shamrock
3 Great Grandchildren – Lindsay and Lexie Patton
