MEMORIAL SERVICES – 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 13, 2015 in the First United Methodist Church in Memphis with Rev. Jack Dominguez, officiating.
CREMATION & ARRANGEMENTS - Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis.
Jim was born August 13, 1933 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Ruby and James Henry Mills, Sr. He married Billie Lowry on July 7, 1956 in Clovis, NM. He was a US Navy veteran. He had been a pipefitter prior to his retirement and was a member of the Local 100 Union Pipefitters. He had been a resident of Garland before moving to Memphis 16 years ago. He was a Boy Scout leader, a member of the Memphis Lions Club, and the Sr. Citizens Association. He was proud to serve in the Kairos Prison Ministries and was an usher and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Memphis.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY – his parents; and a son, Jay Mills.
SURVIVORS – his wife, Billie Mills of Memphis; 2 sons, James H. Mills, III of Dallas and Dean Mills of Richardson; 3 daughters, Sherri Green of Kingston, OK, Debbie Cawthon of Garland, and Misty Mills of Memphis; a sister, Connie Sue Marchbanks of Amarillo; 9 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
