Jack Earnest Wardlow's Obituary
Jack Wardlow, 88, of Shamrock passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021 in Shamrock.
Graveside services will be Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 10:00 AM in the Shamrock Cemetery, Shamrock, TX with Bill Stiles, officiating.
Viewing will be from 9:00 AM ~ 4:00 PM Thursday. Viewing will be from 9:00 AM ~ 6:00 PM on Friday.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors in Shamrock.
Jack was born December 24, 1932 in Cordell, OK to Jack E. Wardlow and Essie Marie Bench.
He married Catherine Hoyt on September 26, 1952 in Amarillo and had lived in Shamrock since 1957.
Jack served as President of the Texas Square Dance Caller’s Association; loved reading and watching westerns; he enjoyed farming and ranching; he loved to cook and ride his Harley for Toys for Tots. He served as a police officer for 3 years; was a truck driver doing long haul/commodities; served as a Missionary in Mexico and enjoyed kids. Jack was a Boy Scout leader, youth leader and enjoyed working with young men.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Hoyt Wardlow; 3 brothers, Johnny Palmer, Leon Palmer and Jimmy Palmer and 3 sisters; Mary Burton, Edna Tillman and Opal Higgenbotham.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Catherine of Shamrock; 1 Son Jack E. Wardlow III and wife Amy of Red Oak, OK; 1 Daughter Christy White and husband Mickey of Shamrock; 1 Brother Roy Wardlow; 13 Grandchildren; 13 Great Grandchildren and numerous loved nieces and nephews.
