Frances "Marie" Barnes' Obituary
Frances “Marie” Barnes, 81, of Claude passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020, in Amarillo.
Private family memorial services will be held.
Cremation and arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors.
Marie was born in McCloud, California, to Kenneth and Louise Lamanna Kirk. She married Ron Barnes on November 2, 1979, in Amarillo. Marie and Ron lived in Amarillo on the old Army base for many years. Marie proudly dedicated 38 years of her career working for West Texas Caterpillar as their secretary. In 2010, Ron and Marie moved to Claude.
Marie was an excellent cook, and her family will miss her bread baking skills. She had a fun-loving spirit and enjoyed dancing to country western music as well as gambling at her favorite casinos. Her distinguishable and strong laughter will be remembered by all who loved her. Above all, Marie adored spending time with her family. Her legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters.
Marie is survived by her husband, Ron Barnes of Claude; two sons, Rance Sellon and wife Debra of Pullman, Washington, and Troy Sellon of North Stonington, Connecticut; two daughters, Tammy Black and husband Rick of Abilene, Kansas, and Serena Gabel and husband Mike of Amarillo; 8 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
