My family lived down the road from Spud Moore and he s family. I have many memories of Dennis since there were only about 17 in our class. We were in the same classroom our entire school years. I remember riding the bus home one day in inclement weather. The bus driver let Dennis and his siblings out at the road instead of turning into the road and taking them to their home. Well, it wasp raining and hailing. The kids had bumps on this heads and the rest of their bodies. Dennis’s mom, Mary made a trip to the school and let them know how she felt about that! Mary had fierce, protective love for her children. I lost track with Dennis after I went to college. I knew he married and had children. I also heard that he sold vegetables on the court house square in the summer time. My brothers and I did that too. I heard the other day that Dennis had passed. It saddens me that he is no longer with you guys. I became a Registered
Nurse. I know about COVID and the lives that were taken. I am so sorry Dennis was one of those lost. I wish I had known sooner. There was a special bond for the “corn Valley” kids. My dad and Spud actually went to Corn Valley school. Dad said that since he was a skinny guy that Spud, who was older and bigger would carry him on his back to school. The Lamb’s lives and the Moore’s lives were intertwined. Dennis was an intelligent, caring person. I know he is missed!
