GRAVESIDE SERVICES – Private family graveside services will be held Friday in Groom Cemetery in Groom.
INTERMENT – Groom Cemetery in Groom

Dannia was born June 15, 1928 in Atlas, Texas to Buford and Ruth Howerton. He married Peggy Louise Thorp on September 7, 1949 in Groom. He was a US Navy veteran serving during World War II. He had been a resident of Groom most of his life where he coached little league for several years and was a preneed funeral salesman prior to his retirement.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY – his parents.
SURVIVORS – his wife, Peggy Howerton of Groom; 4 sons, Hal Howerton and wife Susie of El Paso, Dal Howerton of Groom, Kim Howerton of Flower Mound, and Kit Howerton and wife Missy of Lewisville; a daughter, Toni Nall and Jim of Oklahoma City; 2 sisters, Yvonne Barker of Groom and Billie Williams and husband Doc of Kemp; 15 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
MEMORIALS- The family request memorials be sent to Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
