Rachel Johnson
Some people leave behind memories, but she left behind a feeling—one that made people feel loved, welcomed, and at home.
She was one of the greatest cooks I’ve ever known, but it was never just about the food. She had a way of bringing people together and making everyone feel cared for. Her home was a place people wanted to be, and my kids especially loved going there because she made ordinary moments feel special.
She was smart, passionate about what she believed in, and she stood strong in who she was. She was down to earth and genuine—the kind of person people trusted and felt comfortable around. She had the best stories about life, and somehow every story carried laughter, wisdom, and a reminder to appreciate what matters.
She was an incredible mother and raised some of the sweetest, kindest people, which says so much about the woman she was.
What says the most about her is that you won’t find many people who have anything bad to say about her. Even my daughter, who usually finds something to complain about with everyone, absolutely loved her.
She was someone you looked up to—not because she demanded it, but because of the way she lived. She made people want to be better, kinder, and more present.
The world feels a little less warm without her in it, but the love she gave, the stories she shared, and the memories she created will stay with all of us forever.
