Barbara Ann Bass' Obituary
Barbara Ann Bass, 91, of Wheeler, Texas, formerly of Shamrock, passed away Monday, May 4, 2026, in Wheeler.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, May 8, 2026, at Texola Cemetery in Texola, Oklahoma, with Brandon Dukes officiating. Viewing will take place Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the funeral home in Wheeler prior to the service.
Arrangements are under the care of Robertson Funeral Directors of Wheeler.
Barbara was born October 15, 1934, in Texola, Oklahoma, to Rodney Ivan and Zelpha Mae (Darnell) Jaggers. She married Jim Bert Bass on March 24, 1951, in Texola. Barbara lived in Borger for 59 years before moving to Wheeler County in 2008.
A faithful servant of the Lord, Barbara was a member of the Shamrock Church of Christ and also attended the Wheeler Church of Christ. She dedicated many years to teaching Sunday school and served her church in numerous ways. Barbara was a devoted homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother who cherished her family deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim Bert Bass, on January 24, 2020; her sister, Betty Nell Hill; and a grandson, Cole Barnett Bass.
Survivors include her son, Rodney Bass and wife Greta of Wheeler; two daughters, Elizabeth Denton and husband Larry of Borger and Cynthia Haney and husband Mark of The Woodlands; six grandchildren, Dustin Haney and wife Cody, Marquel Bott and husband Nick, Michael Denton, John Denton, Craig Bass and Amanda Green, and Rachel Dorris; and twelve great-grandchildren, Makaela, Levi, Hank, Hazel, Hunter and wife Paige, Camden, Kolbi, Carter, Greyson, Hazen, Bauer, and London.
The family requests that memorials be made to High Plains Children’s Home.
