Zora Lenora Stephens' Obituary
HEDLEY
SERVICES- 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 18, 2008 in the Hedley Church of Christ with Bright Newhouse, Minister, officiating.
INTERMENT - Rowe Cemetery in Hedley.
Mrs. Stephens was born January 10, 1926 in Colgate, Coal Co., Oklahoma to Creed R. & Callie Jane Eddings Baker. She married Wilson Stephens on July 4, 1946 in Memphis. She had been a resident of Collingsworth & Donley Counties for most of her life. She was a great seamstress and made clothes for family and many friends. She was devoted to her children, grandchildren, & her church. She worked hard on the farm & helped elderly people in Hedley get around for various things. She was a member of the Hedley Church of Christ where she served as the janitor and prepared for communion.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY- her parents; a son, Roy Lee Stephens; 2 brothers, 2 sisters, & a grandson, Neal Wade Duncan.
SURVIVORS INCLUDE- her husband of 62 years, Wilson Stephens of Hedley; 2 daughters, Barbara Duncan and husband Herbert, & Pattie Gilbert and husband Bill, all of Wellington; 2 sons, Coy Stephens and wife Ellen of Borger, & Henry Stephens and wife Nancy of Hedley; 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren with one on the way, & 1 great great grandchild.
IN LIEU OF FLOWERS- The family request memorials be to the Hedley Senior Citizens / PO Box 216 / Hedley, Texas 79237
Viewing will be held from 10AM until service time Saturday in the Church.
