Winnie Lou Renfro Sanders' Obituary
Winnie Lou Renfro Sanders, 84, of Claude died Sunday, December 8, 2019 in Amarillo.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 11, 2019 in the Claude Cemetery in Claude with Johnathan Clubb and Dick Gravley, officiating.
Arrangements are by Robertson Claude Chapel.
Winnie was born May 21, 1935 in Claude to Claude and Ruth Boyd Renfro. She married Nolan Sanders in Clayton, New Mexico, on June 1, 1957. Prior to working outside the home as a secretary, Winnie dedicated her time to raising her beloved children.
A lifetime resident of Claude, Winnie was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was noted by her family for making the best fried chicken. Winnie loved visiting Las Vegas, and even played in the movie "Hud" during filming in Claude. Above all, Winnie is known for the love she shared with her 20 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Lila Gentle.
Survivors include her husband, Nolan Sanders of Claude; Son, Jimmy Sanders and wife Shawna of Claude; Daughter, Vicky Merrell and husband Bruce of Iowa Park; one sister, Doris Phillips of Dallas; eight grandchildren, Monica Clubb, Stefanie Merrell, Jennifer Allen, Erin Douglas, Judson, Dustin, and Tanner Sanders, and Colbie Hall; 12 great-grandchildren, Ty Clubb, Alexis and Avyn Douglas, Brecklynn, Reydon, Nash, Talley Kate, Tinsley, and Lawson Sanders, Kyan Monteiro, and Treyzen and Zayne Hall.
