CLARENDONSERVICES – 3:00 PM Thursday, April 17, 2014 in the First Baptist Church in Clarendon with Nancy Ruff, of the First Presbyterian Church in Pampa, and Rev. Anthony Knowles, pastor of the Agape Christian Church in Clarendon, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 INTERMENT – Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon.Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.Mrs. Spier, born April 18, 1923, was the last of 10 children born to Marcus Lafayette and Corronette Clementine Brinson Putman. She married J.H. Spier, Jr. on Jul 25, 1940 in Memphis, Texas. She was involved in the grocery business with Jr. from 1950-1976. She was an active member and dedicated volunteer of the Senior Citizens and Meals on Wheels. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Clarendon. PRECEDED IN DEATH BY – her parents; her husband J.H. Spier, Jr. on December 21, 1994; and by all her brothers and sisters.SURVIVORS – 3 sons, Lynn D. Spier and wife Maureen and Billy N. Spier and wife Darlene both of Howardwick, Michael G. Spier and wife Neva of Clarendon; 4 granddaughters; 2 grandsons; 5 great granddaughters; 10 great grandsons; many nieces and nephews; and by a life-long friend, Mary Harlan.The family requests that memorials be sent to the Donley County Senior Citizens or to the Clarendon EMS.
