Wilma Jean Hargrove, 62, of Claude passed away Saturday, February 3, 2024 in Claude.
Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, February 24, 2024 in the First Church of the Nazarene in Amarillo with Richard James and Jeff Marcoe, officiating. Private inurnment will be in Claude Cemetery in Claude.
Cremation & Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors.
Born on March 13, 1961, in Erick, Oklahoma, Wilma Jean was the daughter of Stanley Ray Holley, II, and Wilma Lou Hobbs Holley. Growing up in Amarillo and later relocating to Claude in 1989, Wilma embraced a diverse range of occupations, from working in Claude ISD, to caring for children, cleaning houses, and being part of TDCJ before her illness. Her interests included bird watching, music, dancing, and traveling, reflecting her love for adventure. Known for her incredible sense of humor, Wilma was described as wild, wooly, funny, and always up for good antics. With a welcoming nature, she never met a stranger and found joy in the simplicity of life. Her immense love for humanity and animals was evident in her inability to turn away a stray. Above all, Wilma cherished her children and grandbabies deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Stanley Ray Holley, III.
Survivors include her sons, David Hargrove, Jr. of Claude, Thadeous Hargrove and wife Kelsi of Amarillo, and Cody Nevels and wife Amanda of Howardwick; her daughter, Sandy Thomas and husband Ky of Lubbock; her sister, Toni Helm of Claude; 5 grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
