BIOGRAPHY – Wilma Sofia Armes was born on Decemeber 20, 1924 in Duke, OK to Louis Weyrick and Florence Carter Wyerick. She married Leard Anderson Armes on December 22, 1940 in Pettit. She worked as a sales associate for different companies for most of her life. She moved from Anton to Memphis, 32 years ago. She attended the First United Methodist Church in Memphis where she was a member. She was a Sunday school teacher, a member of the Women’s Christian Service, and volunteered at the nursing. She loved children. She enjoyed gardening and always had a beautiful garden. She also enjoyed sewing, her specialty was wedding dresses.
PRECEDED – Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 1 brother Carter Weyrick; 1 sister Wanda Sublett; and 1 son-in-law David Morris Sr.
SURVIVED – Wilma is survived by 2 daughters Carolyn Morris of Memphis and Pat Jolley and husband Mike of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; 1 sister Armienta Burks of Houston; 4 grandchildren David Morris Jr., Connie Mondragon, Brandon Jolley, and Cameron Jolley; 5 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-granchildren.
