Willie Mae Maddox's Obituary
Willie Mae Maddox, 84, of Memphis died Monday, February 27, 2023 in Memphis.
Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, March 3, 2023 in the First Baptist Church in Memphis with Rev. Daniel Downey, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Memphis.
Viewing will be held Thursday at the funeral home with family receiving friends for visitation from 4:00-6:00 PM at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis.
Willie Mae was born September 4, 1938 in Lesley, Hall County, Texas to Albert Elmore and Laura Celeste Brown Ward. She married Oscar Maddox, Jr. on March 4, 1959 in Memphis, Texas. She had been a resident of Memphis since 1959 where she was a babysitter for many years and was co-owner of Maddox Garage in Memphis. She was also a former member of the Young Homemakers Club and the First Christian Church in Memphis. She enjoyed sewing, fishing, and cooking. Willie Mae loved all her family dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Shirley Foster and Carolyn Shults; and a great grandchild, Kohen Lusk.
Survivors include her husband, Oscar Maddox, Jr. of Memphis; her daughters, Donna Blair and husband Rod and Sherry Ross all of Amarillo; her brother, Albert Ward, Jr. of Amarillo; her sisters, Marie Davis of Vega and Henrietta Montgomery of Childress; 5 grandchildren, Lindsay Lusk and husband Bleu, Lauren Ross, Hailey Ross, Zach Blair and wife Tori, and Jared Blair and wife Jocelyn; 10 great grandchildren; and numerous extended family.
