William Lee "Bill" Shortnacy Jr.'s Obituary
William Lee “Bill” Shortnacy, Jr., 68, of Iowa Park, Texas, formerly of Shamrock, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 18, 2025, in the First Methodist Church in Shamrock, Texas, with Daylon Kirkland officiating.
Cremation and arrangements are under the care of Robertson Funeral Directors of Shamrock.
Bill was born February 9, 1957, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Imogene Myers and William Lee Shortnacy, Sr. He grew up in Alvarado, Texas, and later moved to Shamrock, where he was a longtime resident. Bill managed and operated the Shamrock Slaughter Plant for Larry Cook for many years before retiring and moving to Iowa Park.
Bill enjoyed gardening, cooking, hunting, fishing, and dancing. His greatest accomplishments in life were his children and grandchildren, of whom he was immensely proud. He married Tamara Ryan on May 13, 2023, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his late wife, Mary Shortnacy; a son, Michael Shortnacy, Sr.; two brothers, Bobby Dallas and Jackie Lawrence; and a sister, Sherry Renee.
He is survived by his wife, Tamy Shortnacy of Iowa Park; his sons, Jeff Shortnacy, Sr. and wife Marjie of Shamrock, Kyle Zimmerman and wife Ozen of Lubbock, and Alex Ryan of Chicago; his daughters, Donna Talbot and husband Bobby of Weatherford, Texas, Laura Shortnacy and boyfriend Chuck of Clarendon, Lisa Shortnacy and fiancé Jonathon of Shamrock, Karissa Wade and fiancé Jonathan of Flagstaff, Arizona, Kimberly Reeves and husband Derek of Flagstaff, Arizona, and Karle Widemon and husband David of Azle, Texas; his sisters, Deborah Campbell and Susie Elmore, both of Alvarado, Texas, Jeannie Howington of Granbury, Texas, and Gloria Joyce of Dripping Springs, Texas; 27 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; his best friend, Greg Reeves of Amarillo, Texas; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Hospice of Wichita Falls.
