Larry lived a full life managing many construction sites in many different states, preparing oil rig sites, and in his earlier years rodeoing, trucking, and ranching. His passion remained rodeo until the very end, always watching the Cowboy Channel and following current cowboys and cowgirls throughout the year. He also was never opposed to betting with anyone on anything. He also enjoyed taking his beloved dog Boo for rides in the “Boomobile” to Arp to feed fish. In all his travels around the United States he made many lifetime friends and created colorful memories and stories he loved to share.
He is survived by his sister Sarah Kay Walker of Shamrock, TX; his brother Jerry Henderson of Valentine, NE; his daughter Karrie (Steve) Bloemendaal of Rapid City, SD; his daughter Tonia (Tejay) Fischer of Rapid City, SD and their mother Kay (Rod) Fuhrer of Spearfish, SD; several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog “Boo.”
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Casey Tibbs South Dakota Rodeo Center (CTSDRC) in his honor for his continued love of rodeo would be appreciated. PO Box 37, Fort Pierre, SD 57532, PH: 605-494-1094. caseytibbs.com
