Wanda Joyce Smith's Obituary
Wanda Joyce Smith, 80, of Amarillo, Tx, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 in Amarillo.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, July 15, 2024 at Robertson Route 66 Chapel in McLean with Rev. Byron Williamson, officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in McLean.
Viewing and visitation will be from 2-4 PM on Sunday, July 14th at the funeral home in McLean.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of McLean.
Wanda was born in Chillicothe, TX on December 16, 1943 to Chester “CC” and Mary (Roberts) Fowler. She spent most of her childhood in Chillicothe before moving around with her family. She married Larry Vee Smith on March 10, 1961. The pair met and married in Shamrock. They had four sons together. Wanda retired from State Farm as an accountant after 10 years of service. She moved to Amarillo from the DFW area in 2006 where she has been a resident for the last 18 years.
Wanda enjoyed playing bingo and poker. She also loved her Dr. Peppers and spending time with her dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry Smith in 1999; son, Elvis Dean Smith in 1968; and 7 of her siblings.
Wanda is survived by 3 sons, Wade of Amarillo, Tim and wife, Jana, of Amarillo, and Davee and wife, Jona, of Pampa; sister, Shirley Lovell of Grapevine; 3 grandchildren, Braxten Smith and wife, Sharon, Bailye Rattan and husband, Zach, and Jacee Smith; 4 great-grandchildren, Ridlye and Ryland Rattan, Camden and Carter Smith and many nieces and nephews.
