McLEAN SERVICES- 10:00 AM Friday, July 13, 2012 in the First Baptist Church in McLean with Rev. Norman Rushing and Rev. Thacker Haynes, officiating. INTERMENT- Hillcrest Cemetery in McLean. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of McLean. Mrs. Simpson was born August 29, 1929 in Hedley, Texas, to Dewey L. and Eula Grigsby Allen. She married WC “Flea” Simpson on December 7, 1947 in Pampa. Before moving to McLean 60 years ago, Mrs. Simpson had lived in Muleshoe. Most will remember her as the owner of Simpson Grocery, here in McLean. After she and Flea sold the grocery store, Rae kept busy working several other jobs. She had worked as a florist, had worked at the bank, and worked at the Marie Foundation. Mrs. Simpson loved to grow roses and enjoyed sewing. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in McLean. PRECEDED IN DEATH BY- her parents; an infant brother, Bobby Allen; 2 sisters, Peggy Webb and Helen “Fern” Hotta. SURVIVORS - her husband WC “Flea” Simpson of McLean; 2 sons, Melvin Ray Simpson and wife Demedra of Booker, Stanley E. Simpson of Plano; a sister Beth Hughes of Jacksonville, Texas; 8 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. The family request memorials be sent to the First Baptist Church in McLean.
