Wanda Mae Melton's Obituary
Wanda Melton, 91, of Grand Saline, TX, formerly of Memphis, TX, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 1:00 PM in Fairview Cemetery Chapel in Memphis. Viewing will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 24th from 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM with family receiving friends for visitation from 4:00 – 6:00 PM.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis.
Wanda Mae Melton was born on December 5, 1931, in Reydon, OK, to James Henry and Ola Mae (Bishop) Wooten. Wanda was raised in Memphis, TX and attended Memphis High School. She married Harvey J Melton on July 6, 1946, in Memphis, and they had three children. Wanda and Harvey owned and operated Harvey’s Service Center in Memphis. Together, they also pastored churches in Estelline and Memphis. It was Wanda’s true joy in life to sing and minister to people. Wanda also enjoyed fishing and teaching her grandsons how to shoot.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, James and Ola Mae Wooten; husband, Harvey Melton; three brothers, Glenn, J R and Phil Wooten; and grandson, Roger Miller.
She is survived by her son, James Louis Melton and wife, Pamela, of Ruidoso, NM; two daughters, Sharon Miller and husband, Dale, of Memphis, and Sue Sparks and husband, Tim, of Grand Saline, TX; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.
