Vivian "Cle" McQueen's Obituary
MEMPHIS
SERVICES- 2:00 PM Thursday, January 5, 2012 in the First Baptist Church in Memphis with John McQueen and Dale Sexton, officiating.
INTERMENT- Fairview Cemetery in Memphis.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Cle was born August 14, 1923 in Snyder to Sidney & Vera White Ziegler. She married Winfred “Hap” McQueen on December 24, 1939 in Newlin. She had been a resident of Memphis most of her life. She enjoyed sewing, writing poems and songs, and one song was published “When the Flame Burns Low”. She always visited the sick and elderly. She was a Home Health Certified Nurses Aide and graduated the top of her class at the age of 62. She was a strong witness for the Lord and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY- her parents; her husband; a son, Troy McQueen; a brother, Rayford Ziegler; a sister, Imogene Gilchrist.
SURVIVORS - 2 sons, Winfred McQueen and wife Susan of Memphis, and John McQueen and wife Debra of Andrews; 4 daughters, Venita Shultz and husband Robert of Pampa, Billie Sampley and husband E.M., Shirley Ward and husband Dale, and Vivian Martin and husband Danny all of Memphis; 2 sisters, Trudie Wooten and husband J.R. of Tennessee, and Joy Coffman of Memphis; a sister in law, Betty Ziegler of Odessa; 2 step brothers, Jimmy Sexton of Houston and Dale Sexton of Memphis; a special friend, Peggy Gaston of Wellington; 17 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and 15 great great grandchildren.
MEMORIALS - The family requests memorials be sent to Fairview Cemetery Association or Odyssey Hospice.
