Viva Jeanice Porter Weatherly's Obituary
DATELINE – Clarendon
FUNERAL SERVICE – will be held Friday, October 14, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the First United Methodist Church in Clarendon with Rev. Kirk Watson officiating.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Jeanice was born March 30, 1920 in Tulia to Emery Earl and Viva Daphne Anderson Porter. She has lived in Clarendon since 1935 where she was self-employed as an Upholsterer, along with working at the newspaper office, the local antique store, the post office, and served as the Secretary at the First United Methodist Church in Clarendon for a number of years. Jeanice married William T. “Bill” Weatherly on December 3, 1937 in Hollis, Ok. Through the years, she volunteered her time by being a member of the Bronco Mothers, Pathfinders, Historical Society, and the Eastern Star. She was very politically active, a tremendous artist, an avid ladder climber, but most of all Jeanice was extremely dedicated to her family. Jeanice was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clarendon.
SURVIVORS INCLUDE - her son, William T. “Ted” Weatherly, Jr and wife Sandy of Pullman, WA; 2 daughters, Elizabeth Ann Burton and husband Oran of Stinnett, and Janice Noble of Clarendon; 8 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY - her parents; her husband in 1988; her brother, Earl E. Porter, Jr in 2001; her sister, Patricia Ann Porter in 2009; and a grandson, Terry Lee Noble, in 2015, and a great-great grandchild.
MEMORIALS – In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon.
