BORGER (& Formerly of Clarendon) FUNERAL SERVICES - 10:00 am Monday, July 16, 2012 in Robertson Funeral Directors Saints Roost Chapel in Clarendon with Rev. Rick Nichols, Pastor of Central Baptist Church in Borger, and Rev. John Denton, officiating. INTERMENT - Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Virginia Idell Smith was born March 28, 1924 in Donley County to Clark Leak and Ella Moon Cook. She was a graduate of Lelia Lake Schools. She married Charles “Dub” Smith on April 24, 1943 in Lelia Lake. She worked as a nurses aide, and was raised working in the grocery business. Virginia loved reading books and especially her bible every night. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Borger, where she resided the past 10 years. PRECEDED IN DEATH BY – an infant daughter, Ella Jean Smith; her daughter, Cynthia “Cindi” Smith, in 2007; and 3 sisters. SURVIVORS – her husband of 69 years, Charles “Dub” Smith, of Borger; son, Jerry Smith & wife Sandra, of Silverton; daughter, Cheryl Pickard & husband Jeff, of Borger; 4 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS - The family suggests memorials be sent to BSA Hospice, PO Box 950, Amarillo, Texas, 79105.
