Services will be Friday, November 14, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Shamrock Church of Christ with Max McClendon, officiating. ARRANGEMENTS - Robertson Funeral Directors of Shamrock. Mr. Virgil C. Clay, Jr. was born May 6, 1921 in Kelton, TX to Virgil and Nettie Harris Clay Sr. He married Peggy Jean Lister on January 8, 1945. Mr. Clay worked in the oil field, was a farmer, and worked for Clay Plumbing. He had lived in Shamrock most of his life and was a World War II veteran of the US Navy and a member of the Shamrock Church of Christ. PRECEDED IN DEATH BY- His parents, 6 brothers; Bryce Clay, Bradford Clay, Chauncey Clay, Archie Clay, Coy Clay and Charles Harris, 5 sisters; Valley Jolley, Ruby Sammons, Lois Hall, Wanda Jean Fleming and Opa Jo Mitchell,1 great grandchild; Branden Peacock. SURVIVORS: Wife – Peggy Clay – Shamrock 1 Son – Jerry Clay – Shamrock 1 Daughter – Marcia Bellomy – Elkhart, KS 1 Sister – Willie Hazel Warren – Amarillo 6 Grandchildren – Vicki Peacock, Lanell Johnson, Lanette Patte, Julie Clay, Louis Knapp, & Donny Bellomy 12 Great Grandchildren 3 Great Great Grandchildren
