Virgie Lee Marshall's Obituary
Services will be held on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the New Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Memphis with Rev. R.H. Hamilton, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Memphis.
Visitation will be on Sunday, May 13, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Robertson Funeral Directors in Memphis.
Virgie Lee Marshall was born on May 22, 1925 in Ranger, Texas. She was the sixth daughter of Robert James Henderson and Viola Henderson. Virgie attended Morningside School united with Mt. Zion Baptist Church at a very early age. She married Ashford Hardee in 1942. She later married Reather Marshall and moved to Big Spring, Texas and united with Mt. Bethel Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She later moved to Amarillo, Texas and united with New Hope Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Courts of Calanthians. She had two sons Robert Brewer and Ashford Stanley Hardee, both preceded her in death. She loved to clean and cook, and she loved children. On Monday, May 7, 2018 she was called to eternal rest, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and five sisters. Those left to cherish her memory are a loving daughter-in-law, two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
