Vircie Verl Dysart's Obituary
Vircie Godwin Dysart of Graham, Texas, formerly of Amarillo, celebrated a grand 100th birthday in September 2019, and was ‘ready to go’ on February 15.... after getting President Trump and Governor Abbott elected. Her joy was being born into a loving family - father Willard ‘Bill’ Godwin and mothers Beulah Beulah Spitzer-Ing Godwin and Fleda Brandon Godwin, all of Mobeetie. She and Norman Dysart were married 75 years until his death in 2011. Vircie was an accomplished artist and author, excellent chef and seamstress. Upon her retirement as secretary to Sue Ann Hicks at Amarillo College School of Nursing, she and Norman enjoyed many miles of traveling in their RV.
She joins in heaven Norman, son DeWorrell, granddaughter Mandy Dysart Riley, sister Thressa Patterson, brothers Quintis and Bill Godwin, her parents, and many friends.
Survivors include daughter Gayle Dysart (Max) Washington and children Celicia Melynn Washington (Bruce) Hamilton, Todd (Patti) Washington, Laurie Washington (Matt) Hathaway,
son DeWorrell’s children Carey Dale Dysart and Cheryl Dysart (Scott) Plummer,
son Haven (Terri) Dysart and children Robin Dysart (John) Dawson, Christy Dysart (Russ) Anthony, Brandon (Summer) Lyon, and a large group of good great grands, nieces, and nephews.
Her sister Maurea ‘Reacie’ Simpson and brothers Drew Godwin and Jay Godwin cherish the good times.
Graveside service Wednesday 1:00 p.m. Mobeetie Cemetery, Mobeetie, Texas, under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors, Wheeler, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials honoring the Godwin-Dysart family, may be sent to First Baptist Church, Mobeetie, Texas.
