INTERMENT - Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon
Mrs. Bones was born February 22, 1912 in Elk City, Oklahoma to William G. & Eva Fox Shackelford. She was a 1930 graduate of Claude High School. She married Homer Bones on September 24, 1933 in Canyon. She had been a resident of Clarendon since 1932. She was employed as a social worker for the State Department of Welfare for 22 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of the 1926 Book Club. She had been a member of the First United Methodist Church for almost 75 years this month where she has served as secretary and treasurer for many years, member of the United Methodist Women, & the Harmony Sunday School Class.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY - her parents; her husband, on August 9, 1995; a brother and 4 sisters.
SURVIVORS - a daughter, Gayle Price and husband Bill of Marble Falls, Texas; a son, Jerry Bones and wife Theresa of Mesa, AZ; 5 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.
