Vineta Weiss' Obituary
Vineta Weiss, of Shamrock, TX, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2026 in Amarillo, TX at the age of 90 years, 5 months and 19 days. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 13, 2026 at 11th Street Baptist Church in Shamrock, with Daylon Kirkland officiating. Her family will inter her ashes in Shamrock Cemetery at a later date.
Cremation and Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Shamrock.
Vineta was born October 21, 1935 in Durham, OK to Neal Preston Davis and Vitula Rose (Marriott) Davis. She graduated from Texola High School and attended Clarendon College for a short time. Vineta married Glenn Henry Weiss on January 8, 1955 in Clovis, NM. He preceded her in death on October 18, 2014.
Vineta and Glenn spent most of their lives in Shamrock. She was a housewife and was a very accomplished seamstress and made many of the clothes her children wore over the years. In addition to sewing, Vineta enjoyed cooking, reading and playing Sudoku. She loved spending time and being together with her family most of all.
Vineta was preceded in death by her parents, Neal and Vitula Davis; her husband, Henry Weiss; 2 brothers, Richmond Davis and Preston Davis and 1 sister, Velma Francis.
She is survived by her 4 children, Dewayne Weiss of Panhandle, TX, Ronda Mahaffee of Amarillo, TX, Ellen Dorrell of Texola, TX and Rebecca Peña of Wellington, TX; 1 brother, Odell Davis of Amarillo; 4 sisters, Ruby Brown of Borger, TX, Bettie Kirkland of Pampa, TX, Johnnie McGee of Happy, TX and Linda Hall of Amarillo; 9 grandchildren, Chance Weiss, Brent Weiss, Kyle Weiss, Amanda Morgan, Kayla Manry, Meredith Crouse, Erika Edgeman, Gene Peña and Bridget Peña; 21 great grandchildren and numerous other loved ones.
