Vicky Lee Sanders Merrell, 69, of Iowa Park, Texas passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024 in Iowa Park, Texas.
Visitation will be from 1:00PM - 2:00PM Saturday, May 4, 2024, located at 109 W. 3rd Street, Claude, TX . Graveside services will follow at 3:00 PM, at the Claude Cemetery with Jonathan Clubb, officiating.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors in Clarendon, Texas.
Vicky was born March 3, 1955 in Amarillo, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Winnie and Nolan Sanders. She married Bruce Merrell on May 17, 1974 in Claude, Texas.
Vicky graduated from Claude High School in 1973, where she was a member of the 1971 and 1972 State Basketball Championship team. Vicky was also active in the local 4H.
Vicky attended Amarillo College where she studied business. Her early careers included medical billing and coding, administrative assistant, and a stay-at-home mom, but she spent most of her professional career as an educational paraprofessional; however, her most favorite "jobs" were being a stay-at-home grandma and a devoted "Coach's Wife".
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce; parents, Nolan and Winnie Sanders; her in-laws, Jack and Iva Merrell; and one son, Derek Merrell.
She is survived by her daughters, Monica Clubb and husband, Jonathan; Stefanie Merrell; Jennifer Merrell; brother, Jimmy Sanders and wife Shawna; Brother-in-law, Bill Merrell and wife Kay; grandson, Ty Clubb; several nephews, nieces, and cousins who loved her dearly.
