Venice "Walt" Walton Beam's Obituary
CLAUDE FUNERAL SERVICES - 2:00 pm Sunday, June 3, 2012 in the Country Church of Amarillo with Dr. Ray Milhoan, Pastor, officiating. INTERMENT- will be in Claude Cemetery in Claude. Arrangements are by Robertson Armstrong Chapel of Claude. Venice Walton Beam was born June 19, 1928 in Cleveland, Alabama to Henry and Martha Chambers Beam. Walt married Dora Joan (Momma Jo) Campbell on October 7, 1972 in Clovis, NM. He graduated from McHenry High School in Rome, Georgia and served our nation in the United States Navy for 22 years, from 1946 until 1969, during the Korean Conflict. Walt attended Amarillo College and was a utility operator for the Pantex plant for 7 years. He then started his own business as an Owner-Operator of the Campbell-Beam trucking for 14 years until his retirement. Walt was a charter member and deacon of the Country Church of Amarillo. He enjoyed fishing, football, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. PRECEDED IN DEATH BY - his parents. SURVIVORS – his wife of 39 years, Dora Joan (Momma Jo) Beam, and children Judy Beam, of the home, Christopher Beam and wife, Abby, of Wampsville, NY, Jordan Beam and Camden, NY, Elizabeth Detrick and husband, John, of Rome, NY, and Brenda Beam of Rome, NY; his stepchildren, Jack Cagle of Clearwater, KS, Linda Williams and husband, Garvin, of Amarillo, Ginger Wheeler of Amarillo, and Kay Pratt and husband, Cary, of Claude; his sister, Joyce Milhoan and husband, Dr. Ray, of Amarillo; 18 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren.
