Tony Lawrence Winn's Obituary
Tony Lawrence Winn, 78, of Joshua, Texas, passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2026, at Robertson Saints Roost Chapel in Clarendon, Texas with Rev. Anthony Knowles officiating. Burial will follow in Rowe Cemetery in Hedley.
Viewing will be held prior to the service on Monday from 8 AM - 1:45 PM.
Tony was born on February 12, 1948, in Clarendon, Texas, to Alvin Lawrence Winn and Othel Christine (Senelson) Bolin. He grew up in Hedley alongside his five siblings, where he developed the strong work ethic and love for country life that would remain with him throughout his life.
At the age of 18, Tony moved to Fort Worth, where he began a long career as a heavy equipment operator. His work took him to many places over the years before he eventually settled in Joshua, Texas, where he made his home for the past 43 years.
A lifelong cattleman, Tony had a passion for buying and selling cattle and was a true cowboy at heart. He loved the country way of life, spending time outdoors, listening to country music, and dancing whenever he had the chance. He was also a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan who rarely missed cheering on his favorite team.
Above all, Tony treasured his family and the many memories they shared together. He will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his love of ranching and the outdoors, and the kindness and humor he brought to those who knew him.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Lawrence Winn and Othel Christine (Senelson) Bolin, and by his sister, Gloria Jean Bible.
He is survived by his two daughters, Cori Owen of Azle, Texas, and Debbie Mathis and husband, Jason, of Joshua, Texas; two brothers, Jerry Finchum and Buddy Winn, both of Amarillo, Texas; two sisters, Mary Farris of Clarendon, Texas, and Sandy Taylor of Amarillo, Texas; five grandsons, Zachary Hudson, Rylee Owen and wife, Skyler, Baylee Owen, Tony Mathis, and Hunter Mathis; two great-grandchildren, Tilly Hudson and Owen Hudson; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
