Tommie Louise Wansley's Obituary
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2015 in the First United Methodist Church in Memphis with Rev. Jack Dominguez and Tom Anderson, officiating.
Private family burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Lakeview.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis.
Tommie Louise Wansley was born on March 31st 1926 to John Lee and Lela Bell Albright in Lamar County, Texas. After a lengthy and courageous battle with congestive heart failure, she passed from this life on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 and has now entered into eternal life in heaven.
Tommie was introduced to R.S. ( Mutt ) Wansley Jr. by a friend in 1948. Mutt was smitten by her beauty and extraordinary cooking ability. They fell in love and were married on March 5, 1950. During their 60 years of marriage, they lived and worked together on the family farm in Lakeview, Texas. Tommie was a dedicated and caring wife, mother, friend and homemaker. She demonstrated tremendous love for her family and always put their needs above her own.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother and six sisters.
Survivors include her son, Terry Wansley and his wife Jane of Dallas Texas, nephew Sandy Smith and his wife Sherri of Memphis, Texas and nephew David Payne of Lakeview, Texas.
The family suggests memorials be made to First United Methodist Church of Memphis.
