Tom Maddox Reed's Obituary
SERVICES – 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 30, 2016 in the Groom Church of Christ with family and friends, officiating.
INTERMENT- Jericho Cemetery in Jericho.
ARRANGEMENTS - Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Viewing will be held from 11:00 AM until service time at the Church on Wednesday.
Tom was born February 15, 1924 in Hill County to K.C. and Eula Reed. He was a US Army veteran. Tom married Glenna Belle Shields on May 22, 1956 and they moved to Jericho in 1959 and then to Groom in 1972. He faithfully attended the Groom Church of Christ. Tom and Glenna were foster parents for High Plains Children’s Home for at least 18 infants. Tom ran the Jericho Gas Station and did custom hay baling. He loved sharing his garden of watermelons, tomatoes, cantelopes to the community. He dearly loved his family.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY – his wife on January 24, 2011; 2 sons, Ronny Reed in 1969 and Kent in 2008; 3 brothers, Bob, John, and Joe Reed; and a sister, Evelyn.
SURVIVORS- 2 sons, Thomas Reed and wife Lisa of Friona and Cary Reed and wife Lisa of Justin; 2 daughters, Donna Cattaneo and husband Mike of Amarillo and Angie Reed of Claude; a daughter in law, Kellye Reed of Grand Saline; a sister, Jean Heisler of Amarillo; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and 2 on the way.
MEMORIALS- The family request memorials be sent to Jericho Cemetery Association, Groom EMS, or High Plains Childrens Home.
