TJ Brooks' Obituary
T J Brooks, 95, formerly of Shamrock, died Monday, December 22, 2025, in Abilene.
Viewing/Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:30AM Friday, December 26, 2025, at Robertson Funeral Directors in Shamrock followed by a graveside service at the Shamrock Cemetery beginning at 11AM.
Arrangements are under the care of Robertson Funeral Directors of Shamrock.
T J Brooks died Monday morning, December 22, 2025, at Chisholm Court in Abilene, TX, at the age of 95.
He was a man of few words, but everyone knew he was a loving husband, devout father, and loyal PaPaw. T J was born December 4, 1930, in Texola, Oklahoma. He attended Texola public schools and worked as a ranch hand for Tom Bryant in Kelton, James Reneau Seed Company and the Texas Highway Department (TxDOT) retiring in 1992. He was a soldier in the US Army’s Big Red 1 Division serving as a Sergeant First Class in the Korean War. He was a member of the Shamrock Church of Christ and later, the Wylie Church of Christ in Abilene.
He is survived by his three sons and their spouses, Wesley and Mary Brooks of Abilene, Joe and Jennifer Brooks of Lubbock, and Toby and Leah Brooks of Temple; a total of eight grandchildren, Hannah and Cameron Jones, Sarah and Ben Meador, Bethany and Patrick Millington, Taylor Brooks, Christopher Brooks, Chad and Shelby Brooks, Benjamin Brooks and Robert Adler Brooks; and four great-grandchildren, Tristan John (Little T J), Ruth, Esther and Eden.
T J was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Adler and Nora Brooks, his wife, JoAnn on April 15, 2020; and his siblings: Chick, John Adler, Jack, Hook, Mae, Mary, Billie, Dodie and Minnie.
