We met Thomas almost 35 years ago, he was as warm & friendly then as he was before he passed away.
Thomas loved his Wife, Marion and his four Children. He always spoke so fondly of
Brian, Timothy, Chris & Melissa. Melissa was his little Princess, a real Daddy's Girl.
Thomas loved his Brother & Sisters very much. He would always make a point to visit them no matter what other plans he may have.
Thomas & My Husband, Hector would play Golf often, Lake Tahoe and San Francisco.
Thomas would call and say "Hey, Hector want to hit a bucket of balls"?
When my Dad passed away in Aug. 2001 it was time to clear out his home Thomas was right there to help. He helped me for 3-1/2 years. He never complained at all.
He helped me with our deck, paint a few rooms in our home, put together a Wooden Rocking Chair, he even taught me how long to boil a perfect egg.
Thomas was a proud employee of United Airlines, he took my husband & I to United to see the new planes United had, they were awesome. Hector & Thomas would sit on our deck and as the Air Planes flew over Tanforan Shopping Center Thomas would tell Hector what type of engine each plane had, he was a good teacher because before long Hector was telling me.
United Machinist would have a Reno trip once a year which he invited us along. He also invited us to United Bingo & Dinner Night...
On weekend evenings we would play Tripoli or Aggravation, all four of us enjoyed being together having coffee, playing a game & have a cake or donuts...
I missed Thomas when they moved to Roseville although we were invited to their place for dinner many times. When he mentioned to us that they were moving to Shamrock, Texas we were shocked. Thomas said to us that the move is for his Wife, as she grew up there and wanted to be closer to her family, he told me that if the move made Marion happy then he was happy. I bet if Thomas lived in a shoe box he would be happy.
He loved Marion so very much, he would say to us "I love this Lady so much" She is the Mother to my Children, she took care of me when I had open heart surgery" Then he would pull out his wallet, open it & show us pictures of Marion that he had, he would say "She looks a little different now but boy I still love her today as I did then"
Some of my friends would say that Thomas talked to much, well he did but what he talked about he knew the information was true. I paid close attention to his conversations because I learned something new all the time. He knew all the major Freeway's and Highway's across the United States and how long it would take to leave one location and arrive at another... It amazed me for sure.
We had a Yellow Lab that needed someone to watch him because all of us were going on a 7 day Cruise. When I asked Thomas if he could watch Sidd and mentioned he would need to be with Sidd 24/7 Thomas said "Sure" This is the type of friend he was.
I will close saying that Thomas was a true friend, he kept in touch all the years we knew him. We enjoyed his laugh & laughed when he would smack his lips together saying
"Boy, this tastes good" If I ever needed Thomas's help all I had to do was to call him and he would be right there for Hector & Myself.
I am able to have these memories because we were good friends, I have so many fond memories of Thomas that I would love to share but I would need more pages to do so.
Our Dearest Thomas... We all love you, we will miss you, when you arrive in Heaven, which I know you will, please look up Hector, tell him that I miss & love him so much... I know Hector is ready to play a round of Golf with you.
To the entire Family of Thomas I want to say that all of you were so lucky to have Thomas in your life, as a brother, as husband and father, he wasn't perfect but who is. I consider us lucky to have known him, Thomas never met a stranger, he loved life...
With Love:
Arleen, Hector Jr, Diana, John Robert
