Tommy was born October 27, 1989 in Clinton, Missouri to Kevin and Jona Meek. He attended Fort Elliott CISD elementary through high school graduating in 2008. While in school his love for raising and showing animals, 4-H and FFA grew more and more. In high school, Tommy was elected to local and District FFA offices and fulfilled his dream of being a Texas State FFA officer. After graduating, he went to West Texas A&M University to receive his bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Education in 2012. Tommy was the Ag teacher at McLean ISD from 2012 to 2019, passing on his passion and love for FFA and animals to his students. His whole world changed in 2016, when he was blessed with his daughter, Tatum, and she instantly became the center of his whole world. He would work as the Assistant County Agent for Ochiltree County before coming back home to Wheeler County as the County Agent.
Whether it was through school, 4-H, FFA, or work, Tommy touched and changed so many lives, from adults to kids. He was always willing to go above and beyond to help others. He was a great friend to everyone he met, loved his family dearly, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mobeetie. Tommy’s greatest accomplishment and what brought him the most joy was being a Dad and Uncle T.
Tommy is survived by his daughter, Tatum of Briscoe; parents, Kevin and Jona Meek of Briscoe; grandmother, Myrtle Stages of Shamrock; sister, Shantell Campbell, husband Wes and children, Kace, Tinley and Bryndl of Texola; lifelong friend/brother, Kellan Quarles and wife Emily of Wheeler; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Wayne and Tola Faye Meek, his maternal grandfather, John Stages Jr. and uncle, John Stages III.
