Thomas Edward Gilmer's Obituary
Thomas Edward Gilmer was born to Edward and Maurine Gilmer on October 17, 1954 in Wheeler, Texas. He graduated from Wheeler High School in 1974. Tom was baptized in Las Vegas at a Cowboy Church in 1991. Tom (Hoss) Gilmer later joined the Air Force. After returning from the Air Force, Tom drove trucks for the majority of his life.
Tom lost his battle to cancer peacefully on January 13 at the VA hospice in Amarillo. He was proceeded in death by his parents Ed and Maurine Gilmer, his brother David Gilmer, his sister Millie Williams, his little sister Carolyn Gilmer, a nephew David Gilmer Jr, and his wife, the love of his life, Mona.
He leaves behind a stepdaughter Misty Mckinley and grand-daughter Bethanie of Amarillo, Texas, a stepson Billy Mckinley of Houston, Texas, a sister Tillie Snelgrooes and husband Daryl of Fort Cobb, a brother Mark Gilmer and wife Sue Ann of Wheeler, Texas, a brother John Gilmer and wife JanRenee of Murphy, Texas, a sister-in-law Winnie Gilmer of Briscoe, Texas, and an Unlce Pete Gilmer of Amarillo, Texas. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. The family plans to gather at a later date.
