Thomas Jefferson Cole Jr.'s Obituary
Graveside services will be held Saturday, February 05, 2011 at 10:00 am at the Wheeler Cemetery Wheeler, TX with Dr. Bill Wheeler officiating. Burial will be in the Wheeler Cemetery, Wheeler, TX under the direction of Wright Funeral Home, Wheeler, TX. Thomas was born December 30, 1919 in Wheeler, TX to Thomas Jefferson Cole Sr. and Zina Ayner (Jaco) Cole. He attended school in Wheeler, TX. Thomas farmed and ranched all his life in the Wheeler area, he enjoyed working and the farm life. He also enjoyed cabinet work, and custom farming. He established The Assembly of God Church in Wheeler in the mid 1940's. His grandkids called him Papa Brown. Thomas enjoyed gospel music, and formed a baseball team in 1940. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, 5 sisters, 1st wife Mary Lea (Wheeler) Cole, 2nd wife Lottie Mae (Clay) Hicks Cole, 1 grandson Gerrod Dickey, and 1 great grandson Brandon Cole. Thomas is survived by 2 daughters Zinna Kaye Dickey of Shamrock, TX., Frances Dickey and husband Toney of Mobeetie, Tx., 4 sons Tommye Cole and wife Sharlottie of McLean, TX., Jimmye Cole and wife Wendy of Pampa, TX., Rustye Cole and wife Belinda of Longmont, CO., Paul Hicks and wife Judy of Shamrock, TX., 16 granchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The family has requested in lieu of flowers memorial be sent to M K Brown Boy Scout Camp 401 Tascosa Rd Amarillo, TX 79124 make Attn:Scott Kilian or a favorite charity.
