Theodoros Ioannis Giourgas of Shamrock, TX passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022 in Amarillo, TX at the age of 73 years, 3 months and 30 days.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors in Shamrock, TX.
Theodoros was born on August 2, 1949 in Corfu, Greece to Ioannis Giourgas and Ioanna Mayropoulou Giourgas. He served in the Greek Army for one year and served numerous years in the Greek Navy. After arriving in the United States in 1979, he met Lori Ann Morehead in Gainesville, TX in 1983. They were married on November 28, 1983 in Kerrville, TX. He became a United States Resident in November of 1984. Over the years, they lived in Hearne, TX, Kerrville, TX, Gainesville, TX and Ft. Worth, TX. He worked for over 45 years as an industrial sandblaster and painter, retiring in 2006. Theodoros was of the Greek Orthodox faith and loved God very much. He was the hardest working man you will ever know, and nothing in the world gave him more pride than providing for his family. He loved to go deer hunting with his in-laws and fishing/camping at the Red River with his son and grandchildren. His favorite person in the world to speak to was his sister Loukia and they spoke at least twice a day every day. He made friends in every place he stepped and never allowed his Greek accent to be a barrier or keep him from making someone smile. Nothing made him happier than spending time with his grandsons in the garden and going for walks. He enjoyed cooking his favorite Greek dishes for his children and loved ones and had a severe obsession with fried chicken and coffee. He loved watching the Dallas Cowboys play along with his son-in-law, son and grandchildren. He also spent many hours watching wrestling with his grandsons Sterling and Sethen, who he helped raise.
Preceding him in death were: his parents; and one brother, Spiridon Giourgas.
Theodoros is survived by: his son, Casey Adam Giourgas and wife, Courtney Brooke Giourgas; 2 daughters, Ioanna Cassie Giourgas Gillen and husband, Justin Bryan Gillen, and Kallista Tia Ann Giourgas Carmon and her husband, Kenneth Scott Carmon; also, one he claimed as his own daughter, Samantha Kay Bohlar; his grandchildren, Blayne Allen Giourgas, Sterling Carl Rhodes Giourgas, Sethen Ray Brice Giourgas, Jill Ann Carmon, Cameron Elaine Giourgas, Kenneth Scott Carmon Jr., Casey Albert Lee Carmon, Jordan Coe Giourgas, Caston River Giourgas, and Saxxon Bryan Gillen; his “claimed” grandchildren, Zayne Anthony Bohlar and Lucas Matthew Lewis; the love of his life and mother of his children, Lori Ann Morehead Giourgas Kruithof; 3 sisters, Loukia Giourgas, Eleni Giourgas and Olga Giourgas; and one brother, Christodoulos Giourgas.
