Texie Ann Fisher's Obituary
Texie Ann (Barkley) Fisher, 79, of Memphis, passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 in Amarillo Texas.
Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, November 19, 2021 in the First United Methodist Church in Memphis with Dr. Stan Cosby and Rev. Gary Boles, officiating. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 PM in Gruver Cemetery in Gruver.
Viewing will be held Thursday at the funeral home with family receiving friends from 4:00-6:00 PM.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis.
She was born on June 7, 1942 in Hansford County, Texas to the late Harry Barkley and Billie Dean (Cline) Barkley. She married Zack Fisher, June 1, 1962 in Gruver, Texas.
Zack & Texie moved to Memphis in 1965 and were involved in farming and ranching and later opened their own insurance agency where she worked until her retirement.
She was very active in the community serving as trustee for Memphis ISD as well as many other boards.
Texie was a dedicated mother and Nana and never missed any sports event or
activity of her children or grandchildren and was considered a second “mom” to many of their friends.
She attended the First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Oliver Circle and served on various boards.
Texie’s passion was golf. She was a member and served on the board of the
Memphis Country Club, Memphis Women’s Golf Association and the Western Lone Star Sr. Ladies Golf Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Zack Fisher of Memphis; her daughter, Kelli Little and husband Mark of Memphis; son Kevin Fisher of Memphis; sister Pat Ferguson and husband Rodger of Memphis; Grandsons Peyton Little of Amarillo, Zack Fisher and wife Olivia of Memphis, and Kord Fisher of Canyon. Granddaughter Kembra Fisher of Abilene.
The family request memorials be sent to Hall County Home Delivered Meals or the First United Methodist Church in Memphis.
