Teddy Ray Pope's Obituary
Teddy Ray Pope, 71, of Shamrock, passed away Thursday, November 15, in Shamrock surrounded by family and friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Calvary Christian Fellowship, 913 S. Main St. in Shamrock with Joe G. Jernigan, Joseph Vallejos and Matthew Riggs officiating. Burial will follow at the Shamrock Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors of Shamrock.
Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Monday at the Funeral Home.
Teddy was born on January 20, 1947 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Ted and Emily Pope. He grew up as an Oklahoma boy working on the farm in Erick. Moving to Shamrock in March of 1968, Teddy was a resident of Shamrock for 50 years. He worked for Wheeler County Precinct #3 for many years and traveled pipelining with his son. Teddy loved to race cars, not just race the streets in high school but also on the dirt track for many years. He loved to work on old cars and anything mechanical. When he wasn’t working on an old car, he enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Emily Pope; wife, Karla Pope; a son, Shawn Brittain and grandson Kelby Eddleman.
He was survived by 3 sons, Teddy Jr. Pope of Amarillo; Donnie Pope of Shamrock; Billy Brittain and wife Kristina of Borger; a daughter Angie Eddleman and husband Bo of Shamrock; 2 sisters, Phyllis Trammell and husband Bill of Oklahoma City; Patsy Nichols and husband Doyle of Sweetwater, Oklahoma; 12 Grandchildren, Darien, Derrick, Cydney, Tiffany, Colton, B.J., Jerad, Brittany, Travis, Cooper, Samuel, Rebecca; 13 great grandchildren; along with numerous other family members and friends.
The family request memorials be sent to the Shamrock Cemetery Association-lawn care.
