Teddie Jean Allen's Obituary
Teddie Jean Allen, 80, of Memphis, Texas passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020 after a short illness. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at the Fairview Cemetery in Memphis, Texas with Mark Lance, minister of the Memphis Church of Christ officiating.
Cremation and arrangements were by Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis.
Teddie Allen was born on August 27, 1940 in Memphis, Texas to Ted Trulove and Vernell (Callahan) Trulove. Teddie graduated from Memphis High School in May of 1959. She later married Mackie Allen on May 30,1959 in Memphis, Texas and they were married for 61 years. They made Memphis their home where they raised two daughters, Sandra and Sue. Teddie was actively involved with the Memphis Church of Christ and taught Bible Classes for many years. She was also involved with the Chamber of Commerce, Women of Cotton Organization, Girl Scouts, Nifty Fifties, Cyclone Band Boosters, Creative Playground and Ladies Golf Association.
Teddie loved to read poetry, paint, play the piano and write poems. For years, every senior from Memphis received a scrapbook from Teddie, highlighting their accomplishments. Her home had an open-door policy for anyone in the neighborhood and for her daughter’s friends. Most of all, Teddie loved her family unconditionally and enjoyed watching her grandchildren’s activities and her great grandsons playing sports.
She was a faithful servant of God and continued to use her faith to touch others around her even in her final days.
Teddie will be lovingly be remembered by her, 2 daughters, Sandra Harrison and husband LaDell of Abilene, TX, Sue Harrelson and husband Dennis of Carrollton, TX and, grandchildren, Justin and wife Kendall, Joshua and wife Abbie, Jerod and girlfriend Eve, Jennifer and fiancé Chad, Casey, great grandsons, Ryder, Reece, Levi, Mackie and Hayes, sisters Sherry Cromartie of Childress, Betty Gayle Underwood of Hereford and brother Jim Trulove of Humble, sister in law
Barbara Thomas of Holly Lake Ranch, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Teddie is preceded in death by her father, Ted Trulove, by her mother Vernell Trulove and infant Son, Matthew Cartwright Allen III and her loving husband Mackie Allen who passed away on October 1, 2020.
