Ted Reeves' Obituary
Ted Reeves of Wheeler, TX passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 in Wheeler at the age of 60 years and 10 months. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Cornerstone Church in Wheeler, with Rev. Erron Mercer officiating.
Cremation and Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Wheeler.
Ted was born on March 23, 1963 in Amarillo, TX. He spent a portion of his childhood in Wellington, TX and moved to Wheeler when he was 12. He graduated from Wheeler High School in 1981. After graduating, he spent time working in the oilfield. He enlisted in the United States Army in November of 1994, serving 3 years in the 101st Airborne Engineers. It was during this time he met Valerie Watson. They were married in Amarillo on April 27, 2000. Ted was a very talented woodworker and enjoyed making gunracks and many other items. He was a member of the Briscoe Volunteer Fire Department and attended Cornerstone Church in Wheeler. Above all, he was a devoted father to his 2 boys.
Ted was preceded in death by his father, Bennie Reeves; his sister, Cindy Martin; and his uncle, Cliff Reeves.
Survivors include his wife, Valerie Reeves, of Wheeler; his 2 sons, Michael Reeves and Travis Reeves, both of Wheeler; his mother, Connie Reeves, of Wheeler; his sister, Melanie Ellison and husband, Ed, of Bowie, TX; his mother-in-law, Rose Parker; his sisters-in-law, Lynna Koeltzer (Oscar Hernandez), Jacinda Larra (Joe), Pamela Moore (Jerrison) and Quentin Parker; and his very special friends, Walter and Shayla Mack, of Mt. Pleasant, TX.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Cornerstone Outreach in Wheeler, or the Briscoe Volunteer Fire Department in Briscoe, TX.
