OKLAHOMA CITY GRAVESIDE SERVICES- 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 5, 2014 in Shamrock Cemetery in Shamrock with Rev. Jarrod Neal, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Shamrock, officiating. INTERMENT- Shamrock Cemetery in Shamrock. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Shamrock. If inclement weather the service will be held at the funeral home. Jimmy Steve Davidson was born in Wheeler, TX, June 18, 1946, to George and Katherine Davidson. He grew up on his family's farm near Kelton, TX, and graduated from Kelton High School in 1964. He graduated from Southwestern State College in Weatherford, OK, in 1969. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He and Linda Carver married July 14, 1967. Steve and Linda lived in Dallas, Atlanta, Nashville, Colorado Springs and spent the last 23 years in Oklahoma City.
Steve enjoyed fishing, hiking and camping but playing music and taking care of his family were his life's passions. He taught himself to play the guitar at a young age after his dad and an uncle showed him a few chords. He then taught himself how to play pedal steel guitar in 1976. He worked in several bands since 1965. He wrote numerous songs and was a very good guitar player and singer. Steve loved his family and friends. He is survived by his partner, best friend and wife - Linda; sister and brother-in-law Georgana and Don Nafzger, Olton, TX; sisters-in-law Charlotte Carver, Edmond, OK, and Sylvia Carver, Oklahoma City; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Rod and Carol Carver, Elk City, OK; nephew and family Wade, Tanya and Kami Nafzger and Bonnie and K.C. Soliz, Olton, TX; niece Jana Nafzger, Lubbock, TX; niece and nephew Sydney and Rex Carver, Elk City, OK.
