Shirley Jean Burgin's Obituary
On Friday, May 14th, 2021, Shirley Jean Burgin, loving wife and mother, went to be with the Heavenly Father at the age of 80.
Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 18, 2021 in the Groom United Methodist Church with Sam Line and Gene Pool, officiating. Burial will follow in Groom Cemetery in Groom.
Viewing will be Monday at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Shirley was born January 29th, 1941 to Eldridge Monroe and Alice Atchley. She married Bobby Gene Burgin on April 3rd 1972 in Clovis, New Mexico. She raised three children, Rickie Poor, Gene Pool, and LaTisha Burgin in Groom, TX.
Shirley brightened the days of many Groom residents while working at the Ranch House Cafe, NB Drive-in younger in life. Later, the Dairy Queen and S&H Grocery became her passion. If you came in having a bad day she made sure you left having a good one with no charge. She had a mischievous laugh that was unmatched and a sense of humor that could make anyone blush. She loved cruising around town honking and waving at everyone, being with her family, and playing 31.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Bobby Burgin of Groom; her children, Rickie Poor and wife Rita of White Deer, Gene Pool and wife Erika of West Virginia, and LaTisha Garrison and husband Jason of Fritch; her grandchildren, Shaun Poor and wife Sarena, Ashli Evans and husband Jerry, Aubri Ball and husband Dylan, Taylor Pool, Hannah Pool, Matthew Prado, Ava Pool, Rikki Pool, and Shaeli Garrison; 10 great grandchildren with two on the way.
