Sherry Lynn Swires, 72, of Lefors was promoted to heaven on Sunday, June 3, 2018, in Wheeler, TX.

Sherry Lynn McNeil Swires was born to Robert William McNeil and Betty Jane Ware on May 16, 1946, in Shattuck, OK. She was raised in Wheeler. She married in 1964 and moved to Canadian, TX, where she raised her four wonderful children, Justin, Susan, Anna, and Andy, whom she dearly loved. She enjoyed watching rodeos, band, and any sports her children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren were competing in. Her children, grands, and great-grands were the center of her life. She worked for Sears, The Chamber of Commerce, babysat, and was a housewife. She attended First Christian Church in Canadian. She moved to Lefors in 1987 and lived there until the time of her death. She was very involved in the Lefors Senior Citizens. She loved gardening, flowers, music, ceramics, and her animals…which included dogs, cats, bobcats, badgers, raccoons, coyotes, deer, llamas, opossums, pigs, goats, and a Mississippi kite.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandchild; 2 great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her sister, Norma and Gene Keelin, of Wheeler; a brother, Danny and Karen McNeil, of Wheeler; 2 sons: Justin and JoBeth Swires of Litchfield, AZ and Andy and Jeanne Swires of Lefors; 2 daughters: Susan Swires of Lefors and Anna and Wesley Holland of Plains; 11 grandchildren: Aaron, Savannah, Kacy, Jacie, Jared, Casley, Kira, Jada, Tjaeden, Brantley, and Taysen; 14 great grandchildren: Raeleigh, Skye, Shaddox, Dillon, Maggie, Kadence, Beau, Reece, Levi, Ariah, Anton, Silas, Zoey and Ruger; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family request in lieu of flowers that memorials be sent to the Wheeler Care Center or Accolade Hospice.
