Samuel Herman Watson's Obituary
Samuel H. Watson "Sammy" 78 of Memphis, Texas passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family on April 19, 2023.
Please join us celebrating his life Saturday morning, April 22, 2023 at 10:00 am at the Church of Christ in Memphis, Texas with Mark Lance, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Memphis, Texas.
Visitation will be held at Robertson Funeral Directors, 514 N 10th Memphis, Texas on Friday April 21, 2023 from 5-7pm.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis.
Sammy was a farmer for over 40 years. Farming was always his passion. Later he & Sue opened the Deville Restaurant operating for several years before opening their own restaurant The Pit Stop BBQ for 8 years in Memphis, Texas. Sammy attended Memphis & Lakeview Schools. He also served on the Lakeview school board for 17 years & served as President for 15 years. He was also a member of the Memphis Church of Christ. He loved spending time with his family and telling old stories of his childhood.
He is preceded in death by his parents Samuel Jackson & Francis Watson, 2 brothers Doyle Watson & Doris Watson, 1 sister Carrie Rena Schuessler & great grand daughter A'Leah Nicole Mestas
Sammy is survived by his wife Sue of 57 years of the home, son Junior Watson & wife Trish of St. James Missouri, daughters Melissa Foard & husband Brent, Clarissa Mestas & husband Ricky both of Memphis.
Sisters Katherine Sargent and Effie Murray also of Memphis and 7 loving grandchildren.
