AMARILLO MEMORIAL SERVICES - 7:00 pm on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 in the Central Baptist Church, 1601 SW 58th, in Amarillo with Dr. Jerald Chadwick, Pastor, officiating. INTERMENT - 11:00 am on Thursday, February 26, 2009 in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon with Dr. Jerald Chadwick, officiating Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Sam was born January 5, 1944 in Amarillo to Grady and Annie Silvers. He was raised in Goodnight and attended Goodnight School. He also attended Claude school. He was Baptized as a young child in the First Baptist Church in Goodnight. He moved to Amarillo and worked for Coca Cola Company, the City of Amarillo and several other jobs. He was currently employed with Sam’s Club. He was a member of the Central Baptist Church. He lived approximately 20 years in Amarillo. PRECEDED IN DEATH - by his parents, Grady & Annie Silvers; and a brother in law, Dan Haney. SURVIVORS - 2 sons, Sammy Dean and wife Tonya of Slaton, & Jimmy Dale and wife Margie of Amarillo; the mother of his sons, Nelda Silvers; a brother, Tommy Silvers of Clarendon; 2 sisters, Emily McCary and husband Clovis of Clarendon, & JoAnn Haney of Amarillo; 5 grandchildren; 3 nieces; 4 nephews; and many friends. MEMORIALS - The family request memorials be to the American Diabetes Association.
